Aaron Hoesli

Aaron has served as Youth Director of Oakwood for four years.  He and his wife, Becky moved to Ann Arbor in 2009 when Becky started Medical School at the University of Michigan. Becky has now graduated with her MD and is in her residency at Michigan.

Our youth ministry exists to REACH non-believing students, to CONNECT them with other Christians, to help them GROW in their faith, to challenge them to SERVE in a ministry that fits their shape and HONOR

God with their lives.

Joe Bixby

Joe is a fun-loving jokester. You can always find him on the move working

and serving at the church.  He has a real heart for the youth here at

Oakwood and loves hanging out with and ministering to these teens. Joe excels at helping students reach their full potential by encouraging and challenging them to grow in their faith.

Joe is an expert at Bible memorization which makes him ideal as our Bible Memorization Leader. Currently, he has memorized over 400 verses word perfect! One of Joe's favorite verses is Isaiah 30:18 (NIV) "Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!"

Liz Dorman

In addition to her role as a Cherry Coke model, Liz serves as a youth leader for The Gathering. Liz has been involved with Campus Crusade at Eastern Michigan University, and lived in Hungary as a missionary where she witnessed and ministered to college students.

Liz has a passion for seeing God transform students' lives. However, she does not have a passion for writing her own bio.

You will often find Liz punching people in the hallway or making up ridiculous nicknames. She enjoys tormenting her dog with costumes, fitting entire Q-tips into her nose, and eating tomatoes several times a day. Her favorite person at Oakwood is Holli Hall, who she finds to be both beautiful and hilarious. Holli not only knows Liz very well but also happens to serve on the Oakwood web team.

Recently, Liz has decided to spend less time playing with Q-tips and more time writing her bio.
