About Rita
“Being a Christ follower throughout my life has been quite the journey. He’s taken me through deep waters and trials that have tested me over the years. I have fallen so many times, and He’s always been there to lift me back up on my feet. Through a series of broken relationships, I finally figured out what was important to me, putting God first and letting Him lead me. I love writing and learning, and growing with God. I have a beautiful, adult daughter that I love spending time with whenever I can. My hope is to be a tool for God to use to lead others to Him”.

Unshakable Faith

Building a lasting connection and a strong bond with someone takes being persistent. It’s a lot of work. You go through good times and bad times. Understanding how another person is wired and why they act a certain way and do the things they do can turn us upside down. Our world has changed drastically over the years. What one generation perceives as normal, another generation has a whole different take on it. When we love someone we have to keep the connection in tact. Sometimes obstacles get in the way, we just have to fight harder. Generations are different, people are different. Loving somebody with all

Answered Prayer
29
Dec '18
I never used to give it a second thought, but as my prayer life grew, I started realizing all the answered prayers I have been blessed to receive. I also found out that prayers aren’t always answered the way you expect. What we desire and ask God for may not be in our best interest and God has a different direction that He’s leading us in. Often times He will lead us through something we don’t understand. We find blessings quite often through enduring trials. Developing a relationship with God through my prayer life has taught me to be patient and to trust God. Receiving the “feel good” answer from God isn’t always the best for me. He knows

Giving

Dec '18
We enjoy the Christmas season because we celebrate the birth of our Savior. When we were blessed with our Savior, we were blessed with the most wonderful gift we could ever receive. Because of this world that we live in, we fall short every day of pleasing God. We turned our backs on Him, but He never turned His back on us. Through the birth of Jesus, God gave us a way to redeem ourselves. Jesus teaches us everything we need to know about giving. He is the Ultimate Giver. He gave everything for us so that we could have the best gift of all, which is spending eternity with Him.
When we think about Christmas and giving, sometimes we can get caught up in the stress of feeling obligated to give something. Feeling that way steals joy from us. Christmas is a time for happiness and gratitude and

Loving Difficult People
15
Dec '18
We love with all of our hearts and we pray with all of our strength. Sometimes we can feel like we’re just not getting through to someone, then there’s a glimpse of hope. When we finally see that window cracked open, we see that glimpse of hope, we know God is answering our prayers. Loving someone difficult can really take it’s toll on us. We exhaust ourselves trying to figure out why this person is so resisting. We have to take a step back and understand that God loves this person as much as He loves us. We’ve finally got the window cracked opened. We have to stay focused on God and let Him work through us to reach this

Fresh Start

Dec '18
Well, Christmas is right at our doorsteps. My favorite time of year. That says a lot, considering I work in retail, which can get a little hectic, especially around the holidays. I still love it. Some people can become a little stressed, but being helpful and considerate can go a long way. I have found that showing courtesy can ease the nerves of a stressed out customer. Not every experience produces the same reaction, but it has been my experience that people are more courteous towards you when they have been shown courtesy by you. Sharing God’s Word is the most important thing we can do. This time of year especially. Some people have never been exposed to Christ and everything He did for us. They only understand the (Santa Claus) Christmas. This is the perfect time of year for a fresh start. December 25th nears the

Never Give Up

Nov '18
There have been countless times where I have felt like throwing in the towel. Whether at work or in personal circumstances, things can happen that can take their toll and can get the best of us. Being expected to perform well and to do things in a quick, timely manner can put so much pressure on us. We can start to feel the anxiety build up and begin to think nothing will ever be good enough to please anyone. Satan works hard at wearing us down. Why should we keep trying? Is it all worth it? YES!!! Never give up trying, and never throw in the towel.
It’s very discouraging to keep trying and feel like nothing is being accomplished. God understands what we are going through. He knows our struggles better than we do. We are

Running on Empty
17
Nov '18
After making it through a very long week, we can feel exhausted and like we’re running on empty. Sometimes it can feel like we just want to sleep for the next forty-eight hours. But regardless of our tiring work weeks, we still have things to do. We have family, church, different activities and obligations we have to meet. Whatever it is that we think we don’t have the strength for, God does have the strength for it. Every time we feel like we don’t have

Control

Nov '18
Do you ever just want to take control of something that isn’t in your control? I sure do. I want people to know what I know and see things the way that I see them. If they would only agree with me, things would be so much better. But, thank goodness I’m not in control – that would be a complete disaster. GOD is in control. He has everything already worked out. He gave us free will, so we are never going to fully agree on anything. One thing is definite, His plan and His decisions prevail. We will muddle through our disagreements, and battle our spiritual warfare, but then we can rest easy because He’s already won the battle for us. So, when we are confused about why someone is making the choices they are making, we can always turn to God and know that

Under Pressure

Nov '18
Satan is on the move every day. He tries to weave circumstances into our daily routine to trap us, to throw us into the chaos of feeling annoyed, stressed, and under pressure. Satan likes to destroy our peace and make us feel unworthy of God’s forgiveness. He sets doubt in our minds and and tries to slowly destroy our confidence.
God is so much more powerful than satan. When we stand with God, satan crumbles. We live in a fallen world because of sin. Satan likes to believe he has the upper hand, but he’s no
