Reading the Signs

When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and You, and I am no longer worthy of being called Your son. Please take me on as a hired servant”. Luke 15:17-19
Just when you think you have it figured out, life throws you a nasty curve ball. A person who I followed online committed suicide yesterday. It was ironic considering the day was ‘Suicide Prevention Day.’ A young life of only 30 years would never see their fullest potential. That made me incredibly sad. What made it Read more…

Gods Love for Me

How do I know Jesus loves me? I can tell you. He loves me because He created me. He created me for His purpose long before I came into this world. He had each moment of my life planned out. He knew the things that would happen to me, He knew all the struggles I would face and conquer. He knows every imperfection. He knows what’s ahead of me. Jeremiah 1:5 ESV- “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” I’m still very Read more…

Desired Blessings

I remember in Bible Study a few months ago we were studying Job. Although Job went through some horrific times that we can’t even imagine, God did restore the blessings in Job’s life. Job just had to continue to endure and trust. Yes, there were times that Job was upset and got frustrated, but he continued to trust our Almighty God with his life and trusted that God was going to get him through. Read more…

Being Childish

Sep '19
About that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?” Jesus called a little child to Him and put the child among them. Then He said, “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven. So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.” Matthew 18:1-4 Read more…

He Knows what He’s Doing

Sep '19
Sometimes we can begin to question ourselves in situations where we think we should have said something, but didn’t. I didn’t say something, and maybe I should have. Was it a missed opportunity. God wanted to use me in this situation, and I blew it. How can I make it right? What can I do? I don’t want to disappoint God. Slow down!!! God gives us what we need when we need it. God uses us for His work, for His purposes. It’s not about bringing glory to ourselves, it’s all about bringing glory to Him. He designed me, He knows me, He knows my weaknesses, He knows my strengths. When I don’t think I have what it takes, He Read more…

First Line of Defense
07
Sep '19
In Bible Study this week, we’re studying the power of prayer. Man, I sure do need a reminder about that subject. As unexpected things happen with people in my life that I care about, it’s sometimes so disheartening and stressful that I completely forget to pray. As many of you know (either from my blogs or personally), I’m one of those “Let me help!” kind of people. So, when things go awry, what is my first line of defense? “Let me help! How can I help? What can I do to help fix this?”. The answers to these are “No”, “You can’t” and “Nothing”.

Inspirational Women

Aug '19
I am very blessed to be surrounded by so many inspirational women. My mom has always inspired me with her amazing strength. So many times I never realized it, I took it for granted, but she was my rock when I was growing up. She continues to this day to exhibit focus and direction for me. My sister, Kathy, without even knowing it, inspires me to find strength in myself. She shows me that I am stronger than I realize. When I can’t figure things out, she’s always there to help me out, though I can be frustrating at times, she helps me. Kristina, my Read more…

Who can discern his errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.
Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then will I be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.
May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:12-14 Read more…

Is Knowing, Growing?

Aug '19
Ouch. There’s much to be said for those 3 small words. I’ve been a Christian since I was 15 years old, and raised in a little Baptist Church my entire childhood, but l’ll admit in my life, there’s been times that I did not grow toward God, even though I knew Him. I could even be as bold to say that I grew away from God during certain times in my life, while still knowing Him. So the answer to the question is: no.

Freedom in the Spirit

Aug '19
Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image. 2 Corinthians 3:15-18
