Freedom in the Spirit

Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image. 2 Corinthians 3:15-18

Have a Talk with God

But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God.
I will always trust in God’s unfailing love.
I will praise You forever, O God,
for what You have done.
I will trust in Your good name
in the presence of Your faithful people. Psalm 52:8-9

Living a Life for God
17
Aug '19
I’m called to live a life for God. I’m called to live my life according to His will. I’m called to love and show kindness to people even when I don’t understand. This doesn’t mean that I accept or approve of unhealthy behaviors. Jesus called us to love and guide others and to set a Christian example for how to live a healthy lifestyle. It seems like everything around us is becoming acceptable, when it’s not. It’s so important for Christians to stand firm and not back down. We seem to live in a society that makes up rules to satisfy our Read more…

Full Circle Forgiveness

Aug '19
Wow – God sure does know how to get us where it counts! I was recently out on a date (with a Christian man) and the conversation came around to forgiveness. There were a lot of things in his life that he was working through, and I gave my two cents worth about forgiveness and how we need to forgive others since Christ forgives us. I even wrote a blog about it (which I later sent to him) earlier this year (you can find that blog here). I get it – having Read more…

Day or Night

So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 (NKJV)
Years ago, I was riding on a bike path in the middle of the evening. I had completed a lap around the park (about 8 or 10 miles) and was feeling really good. I decided I would go another lap. “There’s plenty of time,” so I thought. Little did I know that my bike chain would come off about mid-way through that lap. By the Read more…

Acceptance

Aug '19
Wow, I can often reflect back on so many times when I felt rejected by others. I think maybe we all can. Especially going through adolescence and early adulthood. But rejection sure isn’t limited to those specific areas of life. God teaches us to be accepting of others. He created us all equal to live peacefully together. It doesn’t mean we accept bad behavior and follow along with it. We are supposed to love people as God Read more…

Celebrate our Love

Aug '19
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
So, this week I am on vacation, and it has been really fun. It’s a time to forget about the hustle and bustle of work, cheer practices, and responsibilities, and take time to be thankful for the things I have. For example, my wife and I have enjoyed Read more…

God’s Children

Aug '19
As parents, we go through a struggle every day. We want the very best for our kids. We want them to be safe, we want them to make the right choices. We want them to follow God. It’s hard when we see them doing things that they shouldn’t be doing, or just not caring about the importance of a life led by God. What are we supposed to do. We do the best we can when we still have control. As they grow and get older, we continue to live our lives in front of them, making sure that we continue to show them Christ. It Read more…

Return to Limitless Love
27
Jul '19
I think as Christians we recognize that God’s love for us is limitless. We’ve learned that in the Bible and we’ve taken that to heart. I wrote a blog on this topic many months back (which I’ll link at the bottom of this blog*), and it was coming from a place where we, as Christians know (and try to fathom) how much God truly loves us.
However, it’s a bit harder to recognize and accept that God’s love for those that have wronged us (or wronged other people – especially people we love) is also limitless. Read more…
