It’s Not About Me

Jul '19
Sometimes I feel like I’ve failed God. I start to doubt myself. I start to see things about myself that wouldn’t be pleasing to God. I start to feel unworthy. I have to remember that I live in this fallen world, and I’m destined to make mistakes and failures. As long as I’m in this world, satan will do his best to mess with my mind and cloud my judgment. Satan can’t take my salvation, but he can sneak around and try to trip me up. Read more…

God’s Might

We all go through rough patches in life. Isn’t that part of what makes life “life”? It’s not always “roses”, as we’d hope life to be. Being part of a church that cares about and values each other as brothers and sisters, and a church that has prayer warriors that step in when needed is so powerful when someone in the church goes through a rough patch. Sometimes when a rough patch hits, you don’t even know what to pray, or don’t have the energy to pray yourself. I’ve personally felt the strength of prayers sent up to Jesus on my Read more…

God teaches me something new each day. I try to stay focused on Him. I try to tune out worldly attitudes and distractions. It can be so difficult at times. I want to get things done, I have a plan, but there is always something tugging at me. I find in those times, that’s when I need God more than ever. That’s when I have to depend on Him and let go of the frustration I feel. God comforts me. He takes away my anxiety. He lets Read more…

Goose Poop

By Mandi Greene
“Look at that pond!” we thought as we walked through the home that would soon become ours. “Look at that view! We can take the kayaks out and go fishing. We can sit on the porch in the mornings and watch the sunrise over the water!”
What our realtor should have said was, “Yes, and look at all those geese! They will honk all hours of the day and poop all over your yard!” Read more…

Out to Lunch Testimony
13
Jul '19
My family and I recently went out to lunch on a Saturday afternoon and encountered a waitress who seemed to be very happy with her job and overflowing with joy. There were 7 of us, and I could tell by the way she talked to us, served us, and went out of her way with kindness that there was something different about this lady.
As the meal went on, she continued to bring us things, and every time she’d stop to just talk. Finally, right before it looked like we were wrapping things up and getting ready to leave, I guess she felt like it was the Read more…

God’s Peace

Jul '19
I am filled with God’s peace. There’s things that I automatically tend to worry about, and I know better. I know God is fully and completely in control. My mind can tend to wander at times, that’s when worry creeps in. Worry is a human default mode that kicks in when I start to think I can fix things on my own, I’m forgetting that I’m not the One in control, He is. I relax knowing that His peace surrounds me. I relax knowing that all of the questions that I ask myself, He’s already answered. When I ask myself, “Why couldn’t I have done that? Why did this happen? Why didn’t they choose me? Why did I have to go through Read more…

God is for Me

Knowing Jesus is for me, means I can rest. I don’t have to be hurried, I don’t have to constantly look over my shoulder. He’s done everything for me. When we give ourselves to Christ, when we acknowledge Him as our Savior, He comes into our lives and He takes up residence.
Revelation 3:20 ESV – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me.
Trouble and heartache are things we must deal with in this life. What bothers us, bothers God. Read more…

Flawed and Furious

I am one flawed individual. I have shame and insecurities that only my Lord and Savior can understand. I go to Him each morning and ask for His guidance and forgiveness. I ask for Him to surround me with His goodness and strength. I pray for my family that I love. I pray that God surrounds each one of them and guides their hearts. I know what kind of struggles go on in my own life, and I know how much I depend on Read more…

Our Brokenness

Jun '19
Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. 1 Corinthians 15:43
Brokenness. I was listening to the song ‘Broken Vessels’ during worship service this past Sunday, and had one of those moments where the song and my spirit seemed to unite. The part of the song went like this: Read more…

Get out of God’s Way

“Get out of God’s Way”.
I’ve heard my Pastor mention this a couple of times over the last few years I’ve been attending this church I call home. He’s talked about how we try and try to do something on our own, and God continues to knock on our hard heads to get our attention, only to finally come to the conclusion that I can’t do this myself. I can’t fix this myself.
I have a family member that is going through some rough patches in life right now and although I can be there for them and let them know that I care about them, there’s actually nothing I can do to help or fix what they Read more…
