Staying focused on God is what I strive to do. So often our thoughts can drift and we begin to occupy our minds with worry and stress that take away from God’s intention for us. It’s easy to do. We can be working and let our minds get way ahead of where we’re at, and then we become worried about things that are not in our control. We can really start to drag our endurance down and lose sight of the good that God has planned for us. We let the stress of this world control our minds instead of focusing our thoughts on God. Hebrews 12:3 NKJV – Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.
I have to continually refocus my mind back on God. I can find myself at work letting the anxiety build and all that does is make me worry more about getting everything done. That’s not what God wants for me. When my mind stays sharp and focused on what God wants from me, things go so much better. I am able to work and do what He needs me to do. When I find myself in those situations where I am discouraged, I have to turn to God and let Him do what He does best, He takes care of me. Psalm 34:6-7 NKJV – This poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.
I have to keep turning to God. I have to constantly make the effort to stay determined and focused on training my thoughts to the good He has in store for me. The things in this world can physically and emotionally drain us. We have to choose to seek God every moment and let Him be in charge of our thoughts. When we do that, we thrive for His purpose. John 16:33 NKJV – These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

About Rita:
“The breakthrough point for when my faith in God really started to grow was in 2000-2001. Through a series of trampled relationships, I turned my focus to God. I love reading, walking, and playing challenging word games. I have a beautiful daughter who lives in Florida, and my vacation time is spent with her. I have learned that having a Christ-centered life settles my anxieties and truly opens the door to God’s plan for me.”
