Prayer

In my life, prayer is so essential. Without my time with God in the morning, I feel lost for the rest of the day. I look at each day as a new opportunity to learn something new. I ask God to surround the people I love. Whatever His plan is for them, I ask Him to hold them close and take care of them as only He can do. I ask Him to lead me and to give me the strength I need to do what honors Him. Through every aspect of my day, whether at home or at work or somewhere in the middle, I need Him. Prayer helps me to stay calm, it helps me to stay focused on God. I need God’s presence in my life constantly. When I am alone in my prayer time, that’s when I feel it the most.
He calls us to be in a relationship with Him. 1 Corinthians 1:9 – “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” The more time we spend in prayer, the more we get to know our Savior. I know for myself that I need His words throughout the day. I need Him through the big issues and the small issues. I don’t take Him for granted anymore. I know He’s always walked with me and He’s always been there, but I didn’t really pay attention until I did an “about face”, and turned my focus towards Him. I started paying attention.
A MORNING PRAYER
Lord help me to remember that nothing is going to happen to me today that You and I together can’t handle. AMEN!

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. AMEN!

Matthew 7:7 ESV

About Rita:
“Being a Christ follower throughout my life has been quite the journey. He’s taken me through deep waters and trials that have tested me over the years. I have fallen so many times, and He’s always been there to lift me back up on my feet. Through a series of broken relationships, I finally figured out what was important to me, putting God first and letting Him lead me. I love writing and learning, and growing with God. I have a beautiful, adult daughter that I love spending time with whenever I can. My hope is to be a tool for God to use to lead others to Him.“
